2016 Asian Horror films you MUST see! (Halloween Edition)

Happy (Almost) Halloween everyone! 
With this exciting and spooky holiday upon us, we have decided to compile a list of a few of the scary, the strange and the creepiest Asian horror films to have been released this year so far! Grab your friends and check out some of our haunted favorites below!

1. The Handmaiden 아가씨 (Korea)

Director: Park Chan Wook 
Release Date: October 21, 2016
A woman is hired as a handmaiden to a Japanese heiress, but secretly she is involved in a plot to defraud her.

2. The Wailing 곡성 (Korea)

Director: Na Hong Jin
Release Date: June 3, 2016

A stranger arrives in a little village and soon after a mysterious sickness starts spreading. A policeman is drawn into the incident and is forced to solve the mystery in order to save his daughter.

3. Creepy クリーピー (Japan)

Director: Kiyoshi Kurosawa
Release Date: April 26, 2016

Takakura  is a former detective. He receives a request from his ex-colleague, Nogami , to examine a missing family case that occurred 6 years earlier. Takakura follows Saki's memory. She is the only surviving family member from the case.
Meanwhile, Takakura and his wife Yasuko recently moved into a new home. Their neighbor, Nishino, has a sick wife and a young teen daughter. One day, the daughter, Mio, jumps into Takakura's house and tells him that the man is not her father and she doesn't know him at all.
4. Train to Busan 부산행 (Korea)

Director: Yeong Song Ho
Release Date: June 18, 2016
A man, his estranged daughter and other passengers become trapped on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak in South Korea.

5.Sadako Vs. Kayako 貞子vs伽椰子 (Japan)

Director: Koji Shiraishi
Release Date: June 18, 2016
After watching a cursed videotape, Natsumi has only two days before she will be killed by demonic entity Sadako. Her only hope is to pit Sadako against Kayako, a menacing spirit that inhabits a haunted house.

6. Phantom of the Theatre 魔宫魅影 (China/Hong Kong)

Director: Raymond Yip
Release Date: April 26, 2016
Killed in a fire 13 years earlier, vengeful spirits of a performance troupe seek new victims as the playhouse reopens.
